20 Thousand Beltchecker Users

We’ve started a movement here and it’s working. We now have more than 20 thousand registered users across all the Beltchecker sites and we’re growing more every day.

Over 20,000 registered users

We started this project a year ago with the hope that, amongst other things, we would remove the central governing body mentality that has come to be the mark of many martial arts disciplines. We are excited to know that many of you believe in what we are doing. Putting the power of validation back into the hands of the every day practitioners is a lofty but achievable goal.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far and we look forward to continuing to improve on the future of martial arts belt validations.

Check Your Taekwondo Belt

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Taekwondo Checker. It’s the next in our new family of sites outside of BJJ and Judo. The goal is the same. We want to provide an independent community based place for people in the Taekwondo community to validate each other’s belt ranks.

The site already has a few Taekwondo practitioners to seed activity. Now is as good of a time as any to setup a new account on the newest global Taekwondo community. Be one of early adopters and set up your profile today.

Check Your Kenpo Belt

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Kenpo Checker. It’s the next in our new family of sites outside of BJJ and Judo. The goal is the same. We want to provide an independent community based place for people in the Kenpo community to validate each other’s belt ranks.

Adding Custom Links to your Profile

We know lots of you have your own athlete pages or even your own website. So we wanted to make sure that you can feature more than just your social media links. Now there is a place to add sites that showcase you and your martial arts journey.

Custom Links

To update your list of custom links, just edit your profile and click on the Links section. You can add anything from your sponsors, more social media, a site your video library, or whatever you see fit to showcase who you are as a martial artist.

Link Location

Once you’ve added a new link, it will show up in your profile right next to your social channels. We’re going to keep adding features to help you improve your presence on the Beltchecker sites and show the world the martial artist that you are. If you have any ideas, let us know.

Beginning to Bring the Family Together

We’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes lately on the entire family of sites. One of the things that we know is important for martial artists to be able to show off their entire catalog of skills. So as we continue to add Beltchecker sites (Judo, Jiujitsu, Luta Livre, etc), we have added the ability to share profiles between sites.

All Profiles in One Place

Our faithful webmaster is a bit a of a ninja as you can see. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t one too. As we continue to add more sites, you can continue to show off your prowess.

If you are practicing more than one discipline, just register for each site of a discipline that you practice. Make sure you get verified. Then, on each site, edit your profile, navigate to the section called, “Social media & other sites” and add the link to your profile(s) in the correct box. This profile link should look something like: https://www.beltchecker.com/profile.php?id=8675309

Edit Profile => Social media and other sites

Keep checking back with us as we continue to build out the network of sites. We’ll keep adding features to help you showcase the great (or even just on your way to greatness) martial artist that you really are.

Podium Pictures as Proof

One of the main reasons Beltchecker exists is for community validation. What better way to show everyone you are as good as you are besides actually showing them in a competition. It’s easy to say you won, but a picture is worth a thousand words. So we’ve added the ability to keep pictures of your competition success directly in your profile.

When you are updating your list of competition medals, just click on the “Choose File” button to add your podium shot, medal pic, or whatever proof you’d like.

Check Your Judo Belts

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Judo Checker. It’s the next step in our new family of sites outside of BJJ. The goal is the same. We want to provide an independent community based place for people in the Judo community to validate each other’s belt ranks.

The site already has a few hundred Judo practitioners to seed activity. Now is as good of a time as any to setup a new account on the newest global Judo community.

Check Your Luta Livre Belts

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Luta Livre Checker. It’s the first in our new family of sites outside of BJJ. The goal is the same. We want to provide an independent community based place for people in the Luta Livre community to validate each other’s belt ranks.

The site already has a few hundred Luta Livre practitioners to seed activity. Now is as good of a time as any to setup a new account on the newest global Lute Livre community.

When Can I Get Promoted?

We’ve got a lot of really great information and insight into the BJJ community here at Beltchecker. One of the more interesting stats is around when people get promoted. The answer is, by a large margin, you are most likely to get promoted in December with January being a distant second place.

The more people that sign up, the more granular and accurate these stats become. As more people join, we’ll be able to see how promotions break down by affiliate, but instructor, by country and a whole other host of interesting breakdowns.

If you are interested in seeing more stats around promotions, check our promotions stats page.
